Treasure Island

Do
you like pirates? About seeking wealthy treasure by brave and challenging
voyage, facing pirates fight and gunfire, together with one legged or one eyed
man with his hook hand? If you do, you’ve to read Treasure Island. It’s about a
boy called Jim Hawkins, who tried to find Flint’s Treasure together with doctor
Livesey and a squire called Mr. Trelawney.
The
story begins by the coming of “the captain” to Jim’s inn. Jim lived together
with his parent. They had an inn which was quiet near the sea. The captain
brought a big chest, and he liked rum so much. Soon, Jim knew that the captain
was Billy Bones, one of Flint’s men.
One
by one, Billy’s old friends visited him to the inn. Billy was so afraid, and he
asked Jim to catch them all together with him. He called them bad people. But
unfortunately, Bill’s health was just getting worst. One day, a blind man
called Pew gave him “the black spot”; a paper with a black spot and a message
which told that they want to get the chest from Bill. Not long after accepting
the black spot, the captain was dead.
Jim
and his mother ran from their house together after that. Jim’s mother brought
some gold and Jim brought a bundle of papers from the chest; for your info,
Jim’s father was dead few times before the dead of the captain. Soon, Flint’s
men came to the inn, but they found nothing.
Jim
opened the bundle of papers and found that it was a map of an island, the
Treasure Island. It was the island where Flint kept his treasure. So, Jim knew
why Flint’s men want to get the captain’s chest. Jim gave the map to doctor
Livesey who had looked after his father few times ago and the squire called Mr.
Trelawney. After that, they agreed to sail together seeking the treasure.
Jim,
doctor Livesey, and Mr. Trelawney sailed together with a lot of crew under the
captain’s authority; he was captain Smollett. They also sailed with one legged
man called Long John Silver. There were a lot of surprise in their voyage; the
fact that Silver was one of Flint’s men, the mutiny of Silver’s crew, the fight
between Smollett’s crew and Silver’s crew at the Treasure Island, etc. A lot of
people dead, including Smollett’s crew and Silver’s crew. In the end of the
story, Silver decided to rebel his own crew and joined Smollett’s crew to get
Flint’s treasure. At last they got it, went to south America where Silver escaped
from the crew by bringing a bag of gold, and sailed back to England. They
shared the treasure, and all of them were rich.
Treasure
Island is a good story to be read. It is suitable for you who like adventure
genre of story. Almost story was told by Jim Hawkins himself as the main
character of the story, and he was told as a brave, good and honest young boy.
The story is also told with a good and interesting plot which was written by
Stevenson, and the story will easily remind us about the story of captain Jack
Sparrow in Pirates of Caribbean. It is a good reading for us who want to read a
light and interesting story, especially for us who want to develop their
English skill. So, just read it, and prepare your self to join the amazing
voyage of Jim Hawkins together with his friends in their seeking of Flint’s
treasure to the dangerous Treasure Island.
